Former TNA Knockouts Champion Taylor Wilde was originally set to make a brief return.
One of the early female talents of the company’s division, Wilde came into TNA/Impact Wrestling by beating then champion Awesome Kong for the Knockouts title in 2008. During that time, she successfully defended the belt against Angelina Love and Roxxi; however, she would ultimately drop the belt back to Kong.
Wilde would continue to wrestle for TNA/Impact Wrestling for another two years and managed to become the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion twice. She eventually left the company in 2010, and retired from wrestling altogether in 2011.
It’s been nearly ten years since the multi-time Knockouts Champion has stepped into a wrestling ring; however, it appeared that Wilde was set to make an appearance at the Lockdown event in Windsor, Ontario, Canada back in March.
Speaking to Bill Pritchard of Wrestlezone, Taylor Wilde reveals the plans for her one-night return to the company, which were derailed due to the coronavirus situation:
“Truth be told, because I have quite a history with the people who work at IMPACT, formerly TNA, it was like a tryout situation for the both of us. I know I love wrestling and I’m excited to get back in the ring but it’s been a long time. So, to make sure it’s something I really wanted,” Wilde said, “If I was really into it it would have gone from there. Then there’s the simple fact that I’m Canadian and these are American dates, so there’s a lot of paperwork that goes into that. So Windsor, it all seemed like a good fit.”
