The Gut Check challenge will make its return!

Impact Wrestling confirmed that the competition featuring young talent in a series of matches and challenges for a chance at a contract will return this Tuesday.

The competition made its debut on television back in 2012, as talents such as Alex Silva, Taeler Hendrix, Sam Shaw (Dexter Lumis in WWE), Christian York, Lei'D Tapa, and Wes Brisco were all granted contracts. However, TNA/Impact Wrestling passed on former Impact World Champion Brian Cage, Joey Ryan, Ivelisse, and Adam Pearce.

Sadly, the contest has yet to produce a bankable name for the promotion. While Brian Cage returned to Impact and became the world champion, the 36-year-old had to continue working the independent scene and Lucha Underground before making his return to the promotion. The same deal can be said for Joey Ryan, who made a name for himself outside of the promotion following his exit from Impact in 2013.

As of this writing, the contestants for the newest addition have yet to be announced. We’ll find out if Impact Wrestling can find its future star through the latest Gut Check competition. Tune in to IMPACT! this Tuesday at 8/7c on AXS and Twitch.
