Santos Escobar Decimates Drake Maverick On NXT With A Fantasma Driver Through A Table

New (Interim) Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar returned to NXT with his new stablemates Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza, and the former luchador sent a very clear message to anyone who might think about opposing him.

After defeating Drake Maverick in the finals of the Cruiserweight Championship Tournament at In Your House, El Hijo del Fantasma unmasked and joined the new heel stable as Santos Escobar. Last night, he cut a promo explaining when he chose to leave the luchador behind and assume his rightful place as the "leader of leaders."

Escobar was soon interrupted by Maverick, who was looking for some payback. Unfortunately his attempt at revenge ended with him being brutally slammed through a table with a Fantasma Driver (we assume he'll be renaming that move) and taking a trip to the hospital.

Mauro Ranallo made sure to point out that Drake's "career might be over," so there's a chance he will be out of action for a while - storyline injury or otherwise.
